The Southern Beauty

Kiwis love their country.  When you love someone, you adorn her, you enjoy her, and you protect her.  This is what Kiwis do to New Zealand.  They protect her from polluters.

And this could be the reason the makers of Lords of the Ring chose New Zealand.

When we reached Wellington, the first action we desired was to google “windiest city in the world.”  To our astonishment, we were right in that city.

As usual we ended up in the museum of the city.  Te Papa is unique, cute, and unbiased.

The allure of Arthur’s Pass National Park is not only in its style but in its dissociation from commercial activities.

New Zealanders have protected the land with passion and not with compulsion.  While others have used mind for rigorous calculations of benefits, New Zealanders have used heart to spare the land as gift.

But the guest of honour was Kiwi. A laborious search of four and half hours on the cramped tails of Rakiura National Park in the darkness of cold night under pouring rain yielded results in the long last.  We were almost disappointed as it was our last night in New Zealand.  Mindful that Kiwi is sensitive to light, vibration, and sound, we remained tip-toed, not even whispering and communicating by gestures, shining a glow of light only on our feet to see the pathway. A few minutes past midnight, he popped up from the bush suddenly, paraded in front of us on his two legs elegantly, knocking the land with his long beak, completely ignorant of our presence, and sneaked into the opposite bush swiftly.  Bravo!  Our group expressed joy only with gestures.
